Belt Inspection and Repair Assessment
Belt damage can occur at the joint or within a localised section of the belt as a result of wear, accidental damage or operating conditions.
Teastech can inspect the affected belt and advise whether repair is a practical option.
The assessment considers the nature and location of the damage together with the construction of the belt and its intended application. Where a repair is not appropriate, we can advise on replacement and the specification of a suitable new belt.
Belt Joint Replacement
The belt joint is a critical part of the finished belt and can sometimes become damaged or worn while the remainder of the belt remains serviceable.
Where appropriate, Teastech can remove and replace an existing belt joint, allowing the belt to be returned to service without replacing the complete assembly.
Our wider experience in belt fabrication and jointing also enables us to consider the most appropriate joint construction for the application.
Repair of Localised Belt Damage
Where damage is confined to a particular area of the belt, it may be possible to remove the affected section rather than discard the entire belt.
Teastech can:
The objective is to produce a practical repair while maintaining the performance required from the belt.
Reducing the Cost of Belt Replacement
Replacing a complete conveyor belt because of damage to one joint or a relatively small section can represent a significant unnecessary cost.
Where the condition and construction of the belt allow it, repair can provide a cost-effective alternative to full belt replacement, extending the working life of an otherwise serviceable belt.
It can also help reduce disruption where an existing belt can be restored rather than manufactured again from scratch.
Belt Fabrication Expertise
Teastech has extensive experience in the fabrication, construction and jointing of specialist conveyor belts.
This means that our repair service is supported by an understanding of how belt materials, joints, reinforcement and construction affect the performance of the completed belt.
Where a belt cannot be economically repaired, we can also advise on the design and fabrication of a suitable replacement.
